Gluckman Mayner Architects, 1998 - 2001

This 8,000 sq. ft. research facility for research scholars, included the restoration of a historically significant 1870s officer’s quarters and a 5,000 sq. ft. addition. Located around the corner from both the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum and the historic central Plaza of Santa Fe, the Research Center provides a state-of-the-art research and archival environment for O’Keeffe’s work and personal effects, while complementing the historic fabric of Santa Fe. The exterior of the new facility utilizes a wood portal to weave the addition to the existing building and provides shading for the library windows. The interior finishes are inspired by those found at O’Keeffe residences at Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch.
