REECE MURPHY RESIDENCE
NASSAU POINT, NY
2015
Located on a stunning peninsula surrounded by Little Peconic Bay (North Fork of Long Island), the reconstruction of the 1920s portion of a large wood frame home will be completed in 2015. In addition to raising the entire structure 2 feet to greatly reduce flood risk, the ridge and eave lines of the roofs will be increased to create light-filled and airy spaces for the most active living spaces: kitchen, living room, and breakfast room. The relocated fireplace will be double-sided to provide a sense of warmth in both the living room and kitchen during the cold and windy winter days.
